Founder(s) Story
  • How the business started

A number of concerned residents began meeting in the fall of 2002 as a direct response to the accelerated private development of many of the Mahone Bay Islands, which created significant changes to the natural island environment and also the traditional use that locals and visitors had enjoyed.

MICA held its first public meeting on March 29, 2003 in Mahone Bay, and the rest, as they say, is history.

MICA is a nonprofit society with charitable status that operates with a 100% volunteer Board of Directors and work teams that channel 100% of all funds towards our Mission.
